Antidote Readiness: Ensure calcium gluconate (10% solution) is immediately available at the bedside. Administer IV push per protocol only if DTRs are absent or respiratory rate falls below 12/min.
Safety Precautions: Maintain strict bed rest with padded side rails. Ambulation is contraindicated due to muscle weakness and fall risk. Monitor intake and output strictly to detect fluid overload and pulmonary edema.
Vital Sign Parameters: Notify the provider immediately for respiratory rate < 12/min, oxygen saturation < 95%, altered sensorium, or urine output < 30 mL/hr.
