학습 자료 둘러보기 →The honey bee stinger is a unique apparatus with a venom sac and musculature that continues to pulsate and inject venom for up to 1-2 minutes after detachment from the bee. The volume of venom injected is directly proportional to the time the stinger remains embedded.
The priority intervention is to scrape the stinger out immediately using a flat-edged object like a credit card. This technique avoids compressing the venom sac, which would inject more venom into the tissue.
Never use tweezers or fingers to grasp and pull the stinger. This squeezing action can forcefully expel the remaining venom from the sac into the wound, worsening the local reaction.
