학습 자료 둘러보기 →Localized amnesia is the most common subtype of dissociative amnesia, presenting as a gap in recall for a specific, usually traumatic, time window. The client often retains memory for events before and after the incident.
Document the precise time frame of the memory gap and the client's preserved memory for other events. Note the absence of a head injury to support a psychological origin over a neurological one.
Do not challenge or force the client to recall the traumatic event. The amnesia serves as a psychological defense mechanism; aggressive probing can increase anxiety and distress.
