학습 자료 둘러보기 →The primary clinical clue for vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) in a child is a history of recurrent urinary tract infections, especially febrile UTIs. This triggers the need for diagnostic imaging like a voiding cystourethrogram (VCUG).
During assessment, document the frequency, symptoms, and fever patterns of past UTIs. While flank pain during voiding may suggest high-pressure reflux, it is less common than recurrent infections.
Do not rule out VUR based on a single normal urinalysis. Proteinuria and nocturnal enuresis are nonspecific findings and are not reliable indicators for this condition.
