학습 자료 둘러보기 →The defining feature of varicella is a pleomorphic rash where lesions in various stages (macules, papules, vesicles, crusts) appear simultaneously. This occurs due to successive waves of viremia over 3 to 7 days.
Vesicles are often described as "dew drops on a rose petal", appearing on a red base, and typically start on the trunk and face before spreading centrifugally.
Do not confuse with measles, which presents with Koplik spots and a monomorphic rash, or herpes zoster, which follows a dermatomal pattern. Uncomplicated varicella rarely causes high fever with photophobia.
