Instruct the patient to avoid sudden head movements, bending over, lifting heavy objects, and straining during bowel movements. These activities create pressure fluctuations that can dislodge the prosthesis.
Never irrigate the affected ear or remove the ear packing. Coughing and deep breathing exercises are contraindicated due to the risk of increasing intracranial pressure. Report any new onset of vertigo or hearing loss immediately.
