학습 자료 둘러보기 →For a displaced femoral neck fracture, the priority is strict bed rest. Any weight-bearing or movement involving hip flexion and rotation can shear the unstable fracture site, compromising the retinacular vessels and leading to avascular necrosis of the femoral head.
Provide toileting assistance using a bedpan while maintaining the patient in a position of comfort that avoids movement of the affected hip. Pain management is essential, but it does not override the safety need for immobilization before surgery.
Never assist the patient to ambulate, sit at the bedside, or use a bedside commode. Even a seated transfer generates significant shearing forces across the fracture. The risk of converting a treatable fracture into a lifelong disability from avascular necrosis is extremely high.
