Clinical point / 실전 포인트 A wound with slough or eschar covering the base is unstageable until enough necrotic tissue is removed to see the depth; do not assign a numeric stage through eschar. 부육·가피가 기저부를 덮으면 괴사조직을 충분히 제거해 깊이를 볼 때까지 병기 미확정이다. 가피 위로 숫자 병기를 매기지 않는다.

Pitfall / 함정주의 Absence of pain suggests deeper (not milder) injury — deep/full-thickness burns can be insensate; assess depth by tissue appearance, not pain alone. 통증이 없다고 경미한 게 아니다 — 심부·전층 화상은 무감각할 수 있으므로, 통증만이 아니라 조직 외형으로 깊이를 평가한다.
